Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

Last updated: 5 January 2026

Our commitment

Edu Naturalis is committed to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and all forms of exploitation within our activities and relationships. These practices are a grave violation of human rights and are fundamentally incompatible with our values of dignity, justice, care, and respect for people and the planet.

We believe that social and environmental justice are inseparable, and that meaningful action for sustainability must always place human rights at its core.

About Edu Naturalis and scope of this statement

Edu Naturalis is a social enterprise that works through education, community-led initiatives, and ethical partnerships to support families, rural and Indigenous women, and local producers.

Our work includes the development of learning tools, resources, and collaborative projects. We do not operate as a labour provider, recruitment agency, or employer of third-party workers, nor do we engage intermediaries to source labour on our behalf.

This statement applies to Edu Naturalis and guides our approach to collaborations, partnerships, and project activities.

Understanding and addressing risk

We recognise that the risk of exploitation exists globally, particularly in contexts affected by poverty, inequality, environmental degradation, and weak protections — the very realities many of the communities we work alongside face.

To mitigate these risks, Edu Naturalis commits to:

  • Working directly and transparently with communities and partners wherever possible

  • Prioritising informed consent, participation, and agency in all activities

  • Respecting local knowledge, languages, cultural contexts, and community rhythms

  • Rejecting any form of coercion, intimidation, unpaid labour, or conditional participation

  • Avoiding intermediaries or practices that could obscure responsibility or accountability

Our approach is grounded in listening first, building trust over time, and acting with care.

Safeguards and reporting concerns

We take concerns about exploitation seriously. Anyone who has reason to believe that modern slavery, human trafficking, or labour exploitation is occurring in connection with Edu Naturalis’ activities is encouraged to report it.

Concerns can be raised confidentially by contacting:

All reports will be handled sensitively and with due consideration for the safety and wellbeing of those involved.

Continuous learning and improvement

Edu Naturalis acknowledges that preventing exploitation is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement in how we design and deliver our work.

As Edu Naturalis evolves, this statement will be reviewed and updated to reflect our growing understanding, responsibilities, and partnerships.

Approval and review

This statement is approved by the founder of Edu Naturalis and will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
